After recent updates for the Internet Explorer 11 you may have found that your MHT reports may no longer open or display their report data.
There are three known issues that cause these problems:
1). Security Update KB3175443
A recent update for the Internet Explorer 11 (KB3175443) has resulted in our MHT reports no longer opening and displaying the report data.
We have resolved this issue for all future MHT reports generated by WebSpy Vantage (18.104.22.168 onward) but existing reports require adjusting to ensure they display in IE 11 and above.
To fix your existing MHT reports, open them in notepad (or your text editor of choice) and do a simple find and replace:
Replace with: "http://mht.webspy.com/"
Save the file, and the report should now open and display correctly in IE 11 and above.
2). Security Update KB3192391
This security update (KB3192391) which was released on 11th of October 2016 resulted in MHT reports no longer working again.
This update appears to be no longer available via Windows Updates, so we recommend the removal of this particular update and use the October 2016 Preview of Monthly Quality Rollup instead (KB3192403 available via Optional Updates) until the full October Rollup is available.
This preview rollup does contain the KB3192391 security update but it does not appear to cause the MHT problems.
3). MHT path is too long (Internet Explorer reports an exception)
If you find that Internet Explorer hangs or reports an exception upon attempting to open an MHT report then the problem may be the path and filename of the MHT is too long for Internet Explorer to handle.
Try renaming the report file or relocating the MHT reports to a smaller file path such as C:\Reports. Once you have shortened the file path, you should find that the MHT report will now open without any problems.
